With more than five million votes and nearly 4,000 projects nominated, the Aviva Community Fund continues to be a force for good in local communities. Here at Charities Trust we have been privileged to play a part.

"When the Aviva Community Fund opened in September, we asked the public to submit a project and tell us what difference these funds could make to their local community," says Debbie Bullock, Community investment Manager at Aviva UK. "Nearly 4,000 projects entered. The projects then worked to secure enough votes from friends, family and supporters in their community to make it to the finals.

"Over 5 million votes were cast in total. Finalists then went to a panel of judges who decided how to award the funds. There were a lot of tough decisions, but we are now thrilled to announce the winners."

Linda Minnis, CEO at Charities Trust adds: "We worked with Aviva in 2015 on its first Community Fund so we were thrilled when they asked us to work with them again. It has been an incredible venture, with more projects benefiting from more funding. Our role is to moderate all the projects, do the due diligence on the winners and most importantly, pay out the money."

The Aviva Community Fund offers support and funding to inspirational local projects in communities across the UK. Open to everyone, it brings together community groups, charities, employees and customers from all around Britain.

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who got involved by nominating, voting or sharing with friends and family.
